5th grade Leaves

Students were challenged with using a variety of art elements in this project.
How do you use shape to randomly place them to use all the space of your paper?

How do you create positive and negative space inside your leaf shape/
Choose a color group...analogous or shades and tints of one color.

Students learned how to use watercolor paint to create a value of lights and darks of one color.
All these elements shape, space and color came together to complete these Dale Chiluy inspired artworks.

The latest and greatest from the creative minds here at Camey

5th grade artwork inspired by Dale Chihuly artwork: How does an artist use variety and balance?
4th grade artwork collage with a gyotaku print: What is gyotaku? Google it, find out for yourself.
Kindergarten: Painting lessons, learning how to use the supplies the correct way...working on concepts of under, on top, on the side and counting. How many legs does a tiger have? Can you paint five stripes on your tiger's body?
1st grade texture castles: What's the difference between real texture and visual texture? We took a look at Simon Rodia's Watts Towers found in Los Angeles, California.

Kindergartens hard at work...We are drawing lady bugs...start by tracing a circle then following along with the drawing lesson to complete. But my favorite part is the details, this week the ladybugs have been drawn in the park, a ladybug family, at a birthday party....the possibilities are endless.

 Animals in Art
Some art work examples from today's exploration of "Why do artists use animals as their subject matter?" Each of these students also explored different points of view. Can you tell which is which? Front point of view/side point of view/ and back point of view.
Some students tried their hand at realism while others kept it a little more abstract. Some chose color while others worked on their shading with value.
