5th grade Selfies

Using their i-pad the 5th graders took their picture, downloaded it to their Google Drive.
Then using the I-Mac Airs we printed their photo in black and white.
Using wet transfer and transparencies, they printed at least 3 prints of their photo.

Using their best print, students were then asked to paint the print with a monochromatic theme. The students explored making shades and tints of one color.
Finished paintings soon to follow!

Summer Time!

The end of school is here! Thus the giant smile on my face. It's been a wonderful year. I'm looking forward to a little R and R over the summer to refuel myself for next school year. Have a fun and safe summer. Do something creative over the summer: sketch, color, paint, image, build, sculpt, explore....enjoy!

I just couldn't resist showing some more of these awesome bowls that my 5th graders created.

3rd grade flowers inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe

3rd graders: Warm and Cool colored flowers inspired by artist Georgia O'Keeffe.
Students first used pencil to draw a large flower onto black construction paper. Then students traced their pencil drawing in regular Elmer's glue. Students used oil pastel (Craypas) to color in between the glue outline. And the end results are fabulous!!
